Dear Captain Bajaj, Mrs. Dimpu, Mr. Rajeev, Mrs. Tanwinder, Mrs. Varsha and Mrs. Usha,
Please accept my Special Greetings and Vast Appreciation !
Revelling in the heartfelt pride that I feel today I am writing an elaborate email expressing my gratitude for everyone in the PSG community.
Today is a proud day for me as both my daughters Mahi and Manasi have done exceptionally well in their MYP Board Exams. I am extremely delighted to witness their progress and learnings, for which I have PSG's senior leadership team and expert faculty to thank.
I thank Captain Rohit Sen Bajaj for inspiring them everyday to reach new heights, Mrs. Dimpu Sharma for providing a thriving learning environment and invaluable opportunities like the mock exams and exhibitions, Mr. Rajeev Sharma for instilling the importance of rigor and discipline, and Mrs. Tanwinder and Mrs. Varsha for their guidance through endless support and frequent communication.
Stepping forward, I believe that this mail would be incomplete without me expressing my gratitude towards all the subject teachers.
An exceptional thanks to Mrs. Harpreet Kaur who tirelessly motivated Mahi to improve her grades in Language and Literature. I recall Mahi passionately telling me the ways in which Mrs. Harpreet always kept the classes challenging, maintaining a steady balance between learning of Support-Students and the rest of the class. Through regular interactions and discussions with my daughter, I know for sure that she left no stone unturned to ensure that Mahi did better and better.
I express my immense gratitude for Mr. Vishal Sharma for making Extended Mathematics as fun as it could possibly be. I remember being worried about the decline in Mahi's grades but with his constant support in providing many resources, imparting passionate teaching and frequent reminders to practice, Vishal Sir was able to help bring Mahi back on track.
Through the past year, I have watched Mrs. Gurpreet fill Mahi with an irreplaceable love for Chemistry. Mahi would come home from school and go on and on about a new type of reaction they learnt or a topic she cried through. But one thing Mahi always mentioned was that Gurpreet Ma'am's ever lasting appetite to teach Chemistry helped her grasp concepts easily.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Varsha Sinha for making Biology lessons the highlight of Mahi's day. Mahi would tell me about the smilies Mrs. Varsha would draw on the board and the unique anecdotes she would use to help Mahi remember and understand detailed topics. Mahi's love for Biology is accredited to her completely!
How can I possibly forget Mrs Shailja who always had a supportive smile on her face when Mahi was struggling to get better grades. Mahi would often discuss dropping to Phase 2 Spanish when the subject became very tough and detailed. But Mrs. Shailja continued to empower Mahi by providing her with multiple resources to practice and study from, inspiring her to learn more and more.
As for INS, Mahi has always been very fond of the subject and yet Mrs. Pallabika everyday found innovative ways to keep increasing Mahi's curiosity. Whether it was through controversial debates or fun group activities Mrs Pallabika kept the class truly engaging and intriguing.
Coming to the Personal Project, a core pillar of IB MYP, I express enormous gratitude to Mrs. Sakshi for perpetually guiding Mahi to step out of her comfort zone and publish a research paper. She was there for Mahi through every obstacle, helping her find the best possible solution. I recall Mahi continuously telling me how without Mrs Sakshi's strict timelines, reminders and ample assistance, PP would have been a way bigger challenge.
Now talking about Manasi's learning journey, I want to acknowledge and appreciate her subject teachers.
Mr. Gabriel's unwavering trust in Manasi's ability to perform in Extended Mathematics is the reason that her motivation never dwindled at any point throughout MYP 5. He provided a plethora of versatile learning strategies for Manasi to adapt and was always available to solve her doubts even on holidays.
Ms. Deepshikha's highly captivating classes were one that Manasi keenly looked forward to. From pushing Manasi to contribute for the Founder's script, to reading her emails at odd timings, Ms. Deepshikha has left a heightened impact on Manasi's love for the language.
I deeply acknowledge Ms. Shweta who has seen Manasi's growth from MYP 4 to 5. She helped Manasi take-up MUNs, participate in the World Scholar's Cup, extend herself for Service Learning and has always encouraged holistic growth of her mindset.
French, like any other foreign language foremost requires a refined sense of determination. Fortunately, Manasi had such a source in Ms. Mamta. She was constantly there to remind Manasi of her progress and limitations. Her constructive criticism was always straight-to-the-point and very much appreciated.
Ms. Vandana has been a beacon of knowledge for Manasi. Her unusual enthusiasm and true love for Physics has resonated deeply within Manasi who too now shares the same fondness for this subject. We are forever obligated to her for lighting this undying spark.
I express thorough thankfulness for Mrs. Indu as well, whose humorous and realistic approach to teaching Biology led Manasi to grasp difficult topics with more ease. I often recall instances when Manasi would come home eager to share with me a new biological case study she had learnt in class. It was heartwarming to see her bring back home knowledge and share it with such enthusiasm.
I would also like to thank Mrs. Sonali for helping Manasi's Personal Project embody her. I recall Mrs. Sonali's tremendous support in helping Manasi brainstorm and select the perfect Personal Project when she was uncertain herself. Throughout the journey, Mrs. Sonali helped Manasi's creativity be realized in her PP product and report.
Additionally, I remember both my daughters raving about Mrs. Shweta and her realistic approach to the discipline of IDU. Through the fun bind-mending discussions she would have with the kids, she lit a curious fire within both of them. Moreover, her individualistic feedback and ample amount of sample responses helped my daughters get a stronger grip on IDU.
Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Bodh, Mr. Sourav, Ms. Sangeeta and the entire Visual Arts department for keeping Mahi and Manasi on the right track, ensuring every deadline was met so they could finish their Visual Arts portfolio with punctuality. I remember both my daughters complaining to me about the tedious deadlines and extra Saturdays that they had to work as a part of their Visual Art Portfolio. But, it was these very deadlines and extra time that the Visual Art Faculty invested allowed Mahi and Manasi to finish their portfolio at the right time, that is well before the final exams began.
Today it gives me enormous pleasure to reflect back on the PSG MYP journey of both my daughters and to see them grow into open minded, matured individuals. Watching my daughters grow into the independent learners they currently are, I am extremely gratified towards the PSG community of leaders and tutors who have not only made them better learners but better humans as well.
Sincerest Thanks and Best Regards,
Sonia Malhotra
